LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

She is all you need at the end of the day!

Advertisements

A day of hard work;
A day of ups and downs.
But just your soothing voice
and troubles reduce to an ounce.

A day of errands to work on;
A day so hectic and rough.
But one look into your eyes
simplifies all that seemed tough.

A day so hot and humid;
A day that drives me mad.
Yet a warm embrace from you
and my day is no more bad.

The solution to every problem
that brings me to my knees.
For all the joy locked inside me,
you carry all the keys.

Kiss me and set me free;
Hold me in a tight cuddle.
Without you, life is nothing;
With you, life is beautiful.

A DREAM

I saw a dream, and now it’s gone!

In a land so near yet so far,
with unrest as well as utmost peace,
starts from my brain and sitting in a car,
I travel to the farthest galaxies.

Lying down yet running very fast,
I hide and gallop from my fears.
Feeling tired, I change my track at last
and enter a party, just to say ‘Cheers!’

I dance and dance and play around
with friends and family and lots of strangers.
The next moment, I know, I’m bound
to face happiness and well as some dangers.

Episodes continue without listening to me.
I try to remember what a friend just told
so that I would tell him or her exactly
how yesternight the story did unfold!

I hear a voice – faint and low,
slowly open my eyes and start to yawn.
I remember nothing, just the fact though
that it was a dream and now it’s gone.

Trance? or Substance?

Have you ever wondered how easy it is for us to get deceived? One blink of the eye and something usual turns unusual, maybe just for a fraction of a second. But, it happens, right? Sometimes, you tend to hear the words from your mother-tongue in other languages. I, personally, have loved this experience and try to interpret their words as words in my language. You should try it sometime; it is fun!

The culprit here are our senses. However advanced and complex humans may be, they still can be fooled. We are idiots being controlled by the force of nature. But, even better idiots are those people who think that they are controlling nature. Sheer stupidity!

Anyway, returning to the topic of our senses, we know that we can be fooled at any time. Sometimes, these things lead to broken relationships while some other times, they lead to new connections. Being fooled, even though generally a shame, also has its perks 😉 But the main perk of being fooled is happily accepted by people like me who  get swayed in thoughts of nothingness. We go in a trance. To me, dreams are trance; they have no substance. Shadow is trance; it has no substance. Love is trance; no substance. But, all of these are based on substance. Dreams are based on our daily lives. We dream only of what we’ve seen in life. Shadow is based on its object. If there’s no object, there’s no shadow. Love is based on the mutual feeling of two lovers. If there are no lovers, there is no love. They are all trance. But, they are based on substance.

This takes me back to the topic of being fooled. If dreaming, looking at shadows, and loving is all trance, then trance must probably mean fooling our senses. There is a thin line between fooling our senses by looking at a shadow and fooling our senses by looking at something else which looks like a shadow. Take this example: we are fooled by our eyes to look at a mirage as if it is an oasis in the middle of a desert. Substance is oasis, while trance is mirage. We are nurtured by nature in such a way that dreams, shadows, and love seem real – seem like substance. But, we’re being fooled.

Should we accept trance as substance and never be fooled again? Or should we just be happy that we are being fooled every other minute of our life?

MY DEAR SISTER

This poem is for my loving sister, Aarti, who loves me like a mother and listens to me like a friend. Thank you for being there for me when I needed you, di.

Thinking about you, I’m writing this song.
This is love, but don’t get me wrong.
‘Cause love, they say, depends – to and from.
But it is my heart to where you belong.

I can sing this to you, my dear sister,
even if you are with your loving mister.
I don’t care if I sound a little crappy;
All I want is for you to be happy.

‘Cause you care for me like a mother;
and we share beautiful moments together.
‘Cause I’m your happy-go-lucky brother,
and a sister like you – there can’t be another.

I can sing this to you, my dear sister,
even if you are with your loving mister.
I don’t care if I sound a little crappy;
All I want is for you to be happy.

And now you are going far away;
I will miss you more than I can say.
But I’ll be dearly waiting for that day
when we shall meet and be happy again.

Then I will sing this to you, my dear sister,
When you will be with your loving mister.
I won’t care if I sound a little crappy;
I’ll be there with you – joyous and happy.

Three Long Days

This one’s a downpour of anxiety, scribbled down in a poet’s words!

How do I console my beating heart?

What do I tell my anxious mind now?

Why does the clock always seem to restart?

How do I explain it to myself? How?

What shall I do to get out of this?

There seems no answer to my unease,

I can’t even express how much I miss,

You, your texts, and the way you tease.

It has just been a few days,

You’re traveling, I know, but still.

You could’ve shown your care in different ways,

My trapped heart only cries in a shrill.

I shouldn’t text you, that is my promise,

But you promised to text me by today.

What is taking you so long for this?

I’m anxious, worried, and turning gray.

Why don’t you write a text to me?

Why don’t you reduce this stress?

I know you’re safe – that I can see,

On your Instagram pic with a smiling face.

You may never see this difficult phase,

I wouldn’t want to let you know.

I’ve been waiting for three long days,

And today already makes it four.

She makes me crazy

A long one after a long time!

It was probably the best day,

2016 had ever bestowed upon me.

It was a wonderful Wednesday,

And I was with friends – we were three.

We started off on Facebook,

And moved to Whatsapp after nine days.

Texts became lengthier – we got hooked,

Knowing that love had its own ways.

Being a part of each other’s routine,

Was no more a want but a need,

Texts we had exchanged umpteen,

And developed a friendly creed.

So we took one more step ahead,

And started talking over voice calls.

Oh! Her soft voice played in my head,

Like water running in sublime waterfalls.

I wish to always be with her,

In every nook and cranny of life.

Together we enjoy, together we suffer,

I’ll be the husband and she’ll be my wife.

Yes, I’ve crazy thoughts, I know,

But there’s no stopping this time.

If she’s the arrow, then I’m the bow,

And we will be partners in crime.

With her, I’m defined to shine,

Without her, I’m hazy and lazy.

I’ll make sure that she is mine,

‘Cause, God, she makes me crazy!

Answers to Life

Problems with life?
Read and see if this poem can help you find some answers to your problems.

Sometimes, I sit just to think,

And fill a blank paper with ink.

Questions I have – lots to ask,

All I want is to unveil the mask.

As simple as it can be, let me begin,

With this question, “Why does the earth spin?”

But wait, I’m not going to answer that,

Let’s talk not about science but abstract.

Okay then, here is the first question,

Why is there always a quick end to fun?

Why can’t we always remain happy?

Why do things need to be scrappy?

I know not how valuable it is,

To have fun without toil but with ease.

What is the value of the sun without the rain?

What is happiness if you don’t know pain?

Why do we have to depart?

Why do people suddenly break your heart?

Why do relationships come to an end?

Why do we lose many a friend?

What is a reunion without a separation?

What is a heartbreak with a preparation?

You lose someone to meet someone new,

Many may leave but true friends stay with you.

Why don’t good things stay forever?

Where does God live, if he lived ever?

Why are some people dark and some fair?

Who has seen heaven to describe what’s there?

Without black, does white have any meaning?

Good things live in your heart – stop looking at the ceiling,

There’s no heaven, nor is there hell.

It is your state of mind; only that I can tell.

Why are there so many fights?

Why don’t we see during the night?

Why are we so afraid to die,

When we know that life is but a lie?

Peace is sometimes invisible like the star,

At times, it hides in the veil of war.

Death comes to us only once, eventually,

But we are cowardly, living death every day perpetually.

Dreaming about that time!

I’ve been dreaming a lot. Let me come out of my dreams with a dreamy article.

How many times have I fallen asleep? How many times have I dreamt? I have lost count by now. Some dreams have brought a smile on to my face while some have been nightmarish. Some dreams I could recollect and some I couldn’t. Some dreams I shared with others while some I didn’t. But there have been some dreams that have etched onto my brain as a part of my life. I love to call them my daydreams.

I have always dreamt of becoming a great, inspirational, and knowledgeable person. I have dreamt of helping people become great and rich – in virtues, knowledge, and morale. I have dreamt of people loving each other as if there were no borders, cultures, races, religions, or genders. I have always had this dream that one day all the people of the world will come together and say, “Enough is enough. We just want peace and nothing more.” I dream, dream, and keep on dreaming of a future so bright that even our great grandchildren would be able to dream of beautiful things that the world has to offer. I am still dreaming as I type every single character in this keyboard and see my thoughts getting printed on this white digital sheet of paper.

I know that dreams are temporary. I understand that not all dreams come true. But I believe that dreams have the power to change us and the environment around us. So, why stop dreaming? Still, I know that it requires a lot of dreamers like me to see a change in this world. I can see that it isn’t easy to change the world; rather it is very difficult as people these days have already immersed themselves into the race for money, pride, fame, and lust. Yet, I have been dreaming. I can’t stop dreaming. I won’t stop dreaming.

That’s why I have been dreaming about that time when my dream will come true. Peace.

The bird that I cannot set free

Special people stay in your life forever…

Colorful and joyous she is,

She is the reason behind my smile.

Her never ending chatters,

Makes me forget what’s ‘a while’.

This little bird – when she chirps,

All the others are but fascinated.

I am not sure about all others,

But she surely makes me feel elated.

I have named her, of course,

She is my one and only favorite.

Her wings have long fluttered,

And setting free is her dream date.

My young, little bird sings to me,

Melodies that only I can hear.

To others, it goes off their drums,

This melody which they cannot bear.

Oh! Did I mention about her face?

With a pointy nose that is raised?

Those lovely, little, mesmerizing eyes,

Which gleam and glisten when gazed.

Oh! How can I not miss her?

How can I forget the tree,

On which she perches and looks at me?

She’s the bird that I cannot set free!

BREVITY

This one is neither a poem, nor a song. There may be errors (lots of!). But please bear with me.

“To err is human”

They say tuition is a place,

where we learn to face,

how to win an exam race,

and get the passing grades.

(Let me begin…)

But when I joined a tuition

with a lot of compulsion,

my mind had a confusion,

and I jumped straight to conclusion.

But due to this fusion

of compulsion and confusion,

It seemed like an illusion,

to which I was losing my vision.

So I used some persuasion,

made a simple, silly reason

and worked out my elusion

from that boring, little tuition.

After months of preparation,

When I gave my examination,

Answers came out as effusions,

and some seemed like an allusion

to what was taught in the tuition.

But my heart was in elation,

came out true my intuition,

I was successful in my mission

of passing without a tuition.
